Samenvatting

An archaeological monument near Amsweer was due to fall victim to road construction. Permission to remove the monument was granted, provided an excavation would be carried out. The site was thought to be a settlement site, in view of the many pot­sherds from the first centuries AD found there. It appeared, however, that the soil with the sherds had been brought here to fil in trenches dug to exploit the local clay; no settlement traces were found. The site's status as an archaeological monument will now be cancelled.
