LAAT-QUARTAIRE VEGETATIEGESCHIEDENIS VAN NOORD- EN NOORDWEST-TURKIJE
Samenvatting
Palynological investigations in northen and northwesten Turkey have provided thirteen pollen diagrams covering roughly the last 13 millennia. Vegetation development followed the same general trend as in southwestern Turkey, a pronounced Late-Glacial steppe phase changing into Early-Holocene forest, but the composition and the development of the vegetation differed botanically and chronologically. Conspicuous changes in the pollen assemblages took place around 3200 BP and seem to respresent human activity as well as climatic change.
