EEN VINDPLAATS VAN DE AHRENSBURG-TRADITIE BIJ OUDEHASKE (FR.)
Samenvatting
At Oudehaske near Heerenveen in the northern Netherlands a site of the Ahrensburg Tradition was discovered in 1989 by amateur archaeologist G. Jonker. lt is the second Ahrensburgian site north of the river Rhine in the Netherlands, the other one being Gramsbergen. The material was present in the ploughed topsoil at the top of a layer of coversand, which possibly indicates a relatively late dating. A total of 507 flint artefacts have been collected by G. Jonker, including 18 tools or tool fragments. Among these are one complete Ahrensburgian longed point and two Zonhoven points with concavely retouched basal parts. Furthermore there are scrapers and burins, as well as several fragments of large blades. An excavation is planned for 1990.
