Samenvatting
The origin of carbonized plant remains at archaeological sites in arid and semi-arid climate zones is discussed. Animal dung used as fuel is an important source of botanical information. In experiments with domestic animals the digestion rate of cultivated plants commonly found in archaeological excavations have been measured.
