HET BAI OP SULAWESI: VERKENNINGEN IN DE WALANAE VALLEI
Samenvatting
The Walanae Valley in South Sulawesi (Celebes) has attracted the interest of various archaeological expeditions. The remains of a fossil vertebrate fauna appear to date from the Lower Pleistocene. However, the stone tools, which can be divided into three groups, are much younger. The oldest specimens were found to be associated with the first waves of Homo sapiens, spreading from Sundaland eastward, in the second half of the Upper Pleistocene.
