Samenvatting

The spatial and functional analyses of the inventory of a cargo vessel found in Oostelijk Flevoland at lot D15, showed that both the front and stern part were used not only as storage and working areas, but also as living quarters. It seems that a fireplace both fore and aft is a common feature of 18th-century inland craft found in the former Zuiderzee area. Possibly this change in accommodation layout reflects changes in the composition of the crew.
