EEN ARCHEOLOGISCHE INVENTARISATIE IN RUILVERKAVELING LAAGHALEN EN EOT DE HAAR (DR.)
Samenvatting
In 1990/91 an archaeological survey was conducted in the area immediately south of Assen (prov. of Drenthe). This was commissioned by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Agriculture. It became necessary because the creation of a military exercize ground and a planned realfolment scheme will result in radical changes to the local landscape. Sorne 85 sites were mapped. Among them are a series of Mesolithic sites in a brook valley, ancient cart tracks with several levelled Bronze Age tumuli alongside them, and medieval farmsteads. Trial excavations at the most promising sites are scheduled for the winter of 1991/92.
