HET ONDERZOEK VAN DE AHRENSBURG-VINDPLAATS TE OUDEHASKE (FR.) IN 1991
Samenvatting
In 1991, the excavation at the Ahrensburgian site of Oudehaske (Stapert, 1989; 1991) was completed. In total, the soil from 58 square metres was sifted during the excavations in 1990 and 1991. All artefacts occurred in the ploughed topsoil. The total number of flint artefacts from this findspot, including surface finds, is 2621, of which only 919 (35%) are farger than 1.5 cm. Among the 64 'tools', points (one tanged point, one A-point, several Zonhoven points, and many B-points, mostly fragmentary) are the most numerous type-class (71 .9%), followed by both long and short scrapers (15.6%) and burins (9.4%). Furthermore, 9 'chips with retouch' were collected, most of which probably are retouch removals. Considering that the site is quite small, and that the tool inventory is 'specialized' (dominated by microliths), the site seems to represent a hunting camp, occupied for a short period.
