EEN VERKENNENDE OPGRAVING VAN EEN VERHOOGDE WOONPLAATS IN DE GEMEENTE MIDDELSTUM (GR.)
Samenvatting
In the course of a reallotment scheme, a survey of a small dwelling mound in the municipality of Middelstum was undertaken. Finds of Kugeltopf pottery and proto-stoneware indicate a late medieval date: between 1100 and 1400. Part of the top of the mound had probably been levelled off to facilitate agricultural use. The Maarvliet, which runs beside the mound, cannot be identified as the Gracht mentioned in a 13th-century chronicle.
