EEN VERKENNENDE OPGRAVING VAN EEN VERHOOGDE WOONPLAATS IN DE GEMEENTE MIDDELSTUM (GR.)

Samenvatting

In the course of a reallotment scheme, a survey of a small dwelling mound in the municipality of Middelstum was under­taken. Finds of Kugeltopf pottery and proto-stoneware indicate a late medieval date: between 1100 and 1400. Part of the top of the mound had probably been level­led off to facilitate agricultural use. The Maarvliet, which runs beside the mound, cannot be identified as the Gracht mentioned in a 13th-century chronicle.
