Samenvatting

The first results based on the remains of mites found in Roman Oudenburg (Flan­ders) are presented. The sample was taken and analysed as part of an interdisciplina­ry project involving archaeology, geology, paleobotany and archaeozoology, in which the influence of the sea on the occupation history of the coastal plain of Flanders is studied.
