Samenvatting

The diet of otter has been studied by the analysis of spraints (faeces) which were collected in two former otter habitats, Oude Venen (OV) and De Deelen (DD) in the province of Friesland (the Netherlands). The composition of the diet in summer in OV, and the composition of the diet in summer and winter in DD are presented by the relative frequency af numbers (RFN) and relative frequency of occurrence (RFO). It is found that composition of the diet in OV coincides largely with that of the summer diet other scientists have suggested for Dutch otters. For DD the diet in summer differs from the suggested diet. Nor does the diet in winter in DD coincide with the Dutch winter diet (NL) that was established by other scientists.
