DE OPGRAVINGSCAMPAGNE 1993 IN HELLENISTISCH HALOS
Samenvatting
Some remarkable discoveries were made during the 1993 excavation campaign in Hellenistic Halos (Greece). For the first time it was possible to define an excavated house as a large, oikos-type 'Herdraum' house according to the typology of Hoepfner & Schwandner (1986). In this house a stone-lined hearth and associated with it a stone vessel with the remnants of a houseoffering were found. This particular offering ritual was until now only known from literary sources. The excavation also proved to be promising for future research because of the presence of a well-preserved cesspit, many bones and metal household objects.
