NIEUW ARCHEOLOGISCH ONDERZOEK OP SYROS (GRIEKENLAND)
Samenvatting
A new visit to the Cycladic island of Syros (Greece) last year supplied a wealth of new information concerning the history of the island. Archaeological sites and surface finds as well as historical sources (registers, maps, etc.), were explored and investigated. The purpose of the visit was to gain a more balanced overview of the prehistoric period of Syros in order to place the Early Bronze Age cemetery at Chalandriani within a contemporary context of settlement and land-use. The results of both the study of historical sources and the field surveys at various sites were promising. Further plans include the execution of a large-scale survey on this island.
