HET GIETSENVEENTJE, GEMEENTE GIETEN (DR.): UNICUM OF PROBLEEMGEVAL?

Samenvatting

In the pingo scar Gietsenveentje (province of Drenthe) three profiles were cored. These profiles were palynologically investi­gated. Special attention was given to the landnam level, which marks the establish­ment of the first farmers. In profiles GIE­-IV P and GIE-IV HR the landnam level is found in peat sediments; in profile GIE-V A this level is found one metre deeper in gyttja sediments. In GIE-V A the landnam appears to be an Iversen-landnam: Plantago lanceolata is conslantly present. This Iver­sen-landnam may have been the work of the earliest TRB-farmers.
