EEN VINDPLAATS VAN DE OVERGANG LAAT-PALEOLITHICUM/MESOLITHICUM BIJ OUDEGA (FR.)
Samenvatting
A findspot near Oudega in the province of Friesland is described. The material is comparable to that of the Epi-Ahrensburgian site of Oudehaske (Dijkstra et al., 1992). Among the complete points simple B-points predominate; at least one Zonhoven point is also present. Furthermore, there are both long and short scrapers, burins, truncations and one fine borer. As in the case of Oudehaske, the good quality of the blades is striking, in contrast to those from Mesolithic sites. It is suggested that most Epi-Ahrensburgian sites date from the Rammelbeek phase, an almost treeless period during the first half of the Preboreal. A third site in Friesland that probably also dates from this period is Sint Johannesga.
