Samenvatting

In this paper the possible implications of the find in southern Sulawesi of a fossil skull of Sus celebensis are reflected upon. This fossil might be representative of a fauna younger than the Pliocene Archidis­kodon-Celebochoerus fauna, and older than the Upper Pleistocene/Early Holocene 'Toalian' fauna from the caves.
