SPEURTOCHT NAAR DE VINDPLAATS VAN 'HET MEISJE VAN YDE' (DR.)
Samenvatting
In 1897 the body of a 16-year-old girl was found in a small peatbog south of the hamlet of Yde (Drenthe, the Netherlands). Recently the reconstruction of the face of this girl by R.A.H. Neave (University of Manchester) drew a great deal of attention. The small pool that resulted from peatcutting was filled in with sand during reclamation in 1970 and the location disappeared from the topographic maps. Local authorities plan to reopen the pool. During a student course the location of the bog and its depth were investigated and mapped by means of caring.
