Samenvatting

The listing of peat-bog trackways and paths in the Netherlands seems to have been completed, since the raised bogs have now disappeared. However, checking a thirty-year-old record of a wooden trackway near the German border in 1994 resulted in a new serial number within the international system of trackways. Brushwood, branches and split trunks had been haphazardly thrown info the peat fill of a stream valley to make crossing possible. lt is likely that a wide stretch of the stream valley was overlaid with wood, in some cases proper wooden structures, to maintain access to the isolated Hasseberg, a hill which provided flint and stone. The crossing found in 1994 is provisionally dated to the Bronze or Iron Age.
