Samenvatting

In 1993 an excavation took place in The Hague. In a midden, filled with garbage and debris probhably originating from the former convent of St. Agnetha, remains were found both of domestic fowl and wild birds. All species are common for 16th- and 17th-century sites, except for the turkey. This can be considered as a 'luxury' species, which also applies to the partridge. The wild species can all have been caught in the surroundings of The Hague, while the domestic fowl probably came from the former convent.
