HUISINGE, EEN ERF IN HET MIDDELEEUWSE PEELO (DR.)
Samenvatting
Medieval Peelo comprised three farms: Hovinge, Derkinge and Huisinge. Between 1981 and 1988 the development of the first two farms was made clear by excavations and research in various archives. Although the location of Huisinge had been reconstructed from written sources and confirmed by same stray finds, it was not excavated until December 1995. During the rescue excavation preceding road construction, traces of three buildings were discovered dating from about AD 900-1300. In 1996 further excavations will be carried out for more information about the nature of the buildings and the extent of the farmstead.
