EEN TERPZOOL IN GOUTUM-NOORD (FR.): WEER RAAK

Samenvatting

In 1995 it was put forward that the sites even of levelled Frisian terpen should be considered archaeologically valuable. Findings at Goutum­-Noord this year bore out this assertion: not only buried features were found, but also undisturbed layers from Roman up to Merovingian times. The site produced many imports from all pe­riods of habitation. For the first time in Fries­land, pieces of a 2nd/3rd century potter's kiln were found.
