The Council of Europe, concerned for the protection of the European archaeological heritage, has selected the Bronze Age for its promotion campaign. Indeed, it is in this period, more than in any before, that many regional cultures all over Europe show quite a few common characteristics. Developments in Europe in the Bronze Age can be best described and understood in terms of a World System model.
