HET ZOGENAAMDE HUNEBED VAN RIJS (FR.)
Samenvatting
Close reading of the publications of Janssen and Van Giffen reveals that the stone structure discovered and destroyed in 1849 near Rijs (Fr.) was not a hunebed, but a stone cist of the TRB culture. Re-excavation showed that this cist had been hidden under a low mound of soil. The mound and its wide surroundings were covered by a layer of driftsand, probably some centuries ago.
