Samenvatting

During an excavation at the site of the monastery of Selwerd, in the town of Groningen, in September 1997, a skeleton was discovered. The skeleton was examined for age-determination, gender, stature, pathology and non-metrical variations. It appeared that the individual was a man aged 20-24 years and approximately 177.6 cm (5.8 ft) tall. The skeleton showed some trauma on the lefl scapula and two left ribs. An X-ray photograph revealed the possible presence of a Harris Line. The individual's dental condition was fairly poor. The back of the individual's skull shows an 'Inca bone' and another possible non-metric variation is the presence of an extra foramen above the left orbit.
