EEN NEDERZETTING UIT DE 2E/3E EEUW LANGS DE FRIESLANDWEG TE EMMEN (DR.)
Samenvatting
In the last weeks of 1999 and the first week of 2000 a settlement dating from the 2nd and 3rd century AD was excavated north of the Frieslandweg in Emmen (Drenthe). Three (possibly five) phases of occupation could be distinguished, every phase comprising a house with ane or more wells, sunken huts and barns, and surrounded by an enclosure. So far, only part of the settlement could be excavated; since the municipal authorities of Emmen have planned a parking lot very close to the area of the settlement that has been investigated, more excavations will be due in the future.
