Samenvatting

In the sandy district of Westerwolde (easternmost part of the Province of Groningen) in 1999 a hoard find dating from the 1st century AD came to light. The hoard contained a bronze triquetrum coin of the Bochum-type, a bronze spoon-bow fibula and a bronze Aucissafibula. Is is not the occurrence of a hoard find in East Groningen that is so remarkable, but the finding of a triquetrum coin and the early 'military' context of the hoard.
