GRAVEN OP DE NOORDBARGERES TE EMMEN (DR.)
Samenvatting
The excavations at the Noordbargeres site in Emmen (Drenthe), where the Emmen Zoo is going to build a new park, proved very productive. The most important finds were six graves dating from the Late Neolithic, one of which was a child's grave. Also features from the Iron Age and Roman times were discovered, together with an early medieval settlement. It seems that the Noordbargeres site was more-or-less continuously occupied. As only a small part of the site has been investigated so far; further excavations are planned for the near future.
