EEN AANVULLEND ARCHEOLOGISCH ONDERZOEK NAAR HET HUIS TE PEIZE, GEMEENTE NOORDENVELD (DR.)
Samenvatting
The 'Huis te Peize' was built in the 16th century and demolished in the 19th century. Archaeological research in 1959 and 1999 supplied a great deal of information about the plan of the house. Recent research provided additional information on the plan and the ditches around the house. Among the great amount of objects found in the eastern part of the ring-ditch were a chopping knife and parts af a wooden bridge. Dendrochronological dating af the piers showed that the bridge was probably built in the early 18th century. The idea that the 'Huis te Peize' must have had a predecessor could not be convincingly corroborated.
