EEN BLIK OP MIDDELEEUWS KAMPEN (OV.)
Samenvatting
Recently in the town of Kampen an excavation was carried out on a street called the Voorstraat. This location made it possible to carry out an investigation beyond the old riverdyke along the river Ussel. This area was reclaimed from the IJssel by means of depositing large amounts of soil. This activity must have been taken place in the first half of the 13th century. On the excavation site also traces of an early stone-built house were found. Other important features were two cess-pits, which contained a great amount of objects. They provide us with information about the material culture in late 16th and 17th centuries.
