EEN MIDDELEEUWSE SCHOEN UIT BRUGGEBUREN, WINSUM (FR.)
Samenvatting
During an excavation at Bruggeburen an ancient shoe was found. Conditions were such that it was relatively well preserved. The one thing left is the upper part of the shoe. No sole was found. The cutting pattern of the upper is studied in this artide. This shows that it was a turnshoe which was fastened with thongs, passing around the leg part through threaded keepers. The shoe can be dated between the 11th and 15th century and was used on daily basis.
