Samenvatting

In the former Dominican monastery of St. Katharinen at Stralsund (Germany) a wall niche was found during restoration activities. The niche contained waste from one or more meals. In this article the zoological and botanical remains are presented, showing that the monks ate mostly fish or fowl accompanied by several kinds of nuts and fruits.
