Waardevol vuursteen? Waardering en selectie van steentijdvindplaatsen in pleistoceen Noord-Nederland

Samenvatting

Recently the project ‘Valuable flints? The assessment and selection of Stone Age sites in the Northern Netherlands’ has started. The aim of the project is to assess the scientific value of surface flint scatters. A major goal is to develop assessment and selection strategies which can be used effectively in questions concerning archaeological heritage management (AHM). Using a landscape perspective, the potential of surface sites in the Northern Netherlands will be studied. Attention will also be paid to a positive interpretation of palimpsest sites and the development of minimum research requirements when sites cannot be protected under AHM.
