Samenvatting

Because of the construction of a fire station west of the village of Borger, a small excavation took place on the building site. During the excavation, traces of two granaries, part of an enclosure, two rows of stakes and part of a cattle enclosure were found. The granaries and the cattle enclosure date from the Middle or Late Bronze Age. The other features date from the Early Iron Age. Directly adjacent to the site of the excavation lies a large Bronze and Iron Age settlement. The features provide new information about the known settlement, e.g. the fact that its Bronze Age inhabitants kept their animals in an enclosure. The rows of stakes indi-cate the presence of Celtic fields. Evidence of these was not previously known from this settlement.
