Gebruikssporenonderzoek aan de vuurstenen artefacten van de LBK-vindplaats Geleen (L.)

Samenvatting

The results of the micro-wear analysis of the lithic artefacts from the Linear BandKeramik (LBK) site at Geleen (Limburg, The Netherlands) are discussed. Micro-wear analysis is a microscopic discipline, based on analogies with experimental data. Owing to the small number of flint artefacts, statistical comparison with other LBK sites proved futile, but the examination of the Geleen artefacts has suggested that there may have been a functional differentiation within the site. To verify this hypothesis, further research should be conducted on the non-retouched blades.
