Samenvatting

This article presents the results of a project conducted at the GIA in the early months of 2005 as part of a national pilot study into the feasibility of forming an electronic archive for Dutch archaeology. An inventory and description according to Dublin Core Guidelines was made of a total of 78 GIA projects for which digital files were available; two of these were selected for full archiving as showcases. By late 2005 the archives of these projects (the 1991–1993 excavations at Wijnaldum and the 1994–1997 surveys of the Pontine Region Project) will become accessible for querying and downloading over the Internet.
