Bijzondere vondsten bij Harssens (Gr.)
Samenvatting
Unusual finds from Harssens (Groningen). In the early spring of 2005, archaeologically supervised earthmoving work took place at the site of a manor-house at Harssens, formerly a dwelling mound. During and especially after the digging, archaeological finds from several periods came to light. The older finds consist of rare, geometrically decorated sherds from the Early Iron Age (Ruinen-Wommels I / G1). From a much later period, when Harssens had a church and a cemetery, there were several skeletons. The latter were collected by the ROB and studied. The church was demolished around 1800.
