Samenvatting

The houses of Fochteloo (Fr.). The author discusses the occupation sequence at the settlements excavated in 1935 and 1938 at Fochteloo. Contrary to the view of the excavator, the western farmhouse of the 1938 site is not contemporary with the eastern farmstead at that site, but predates it. It dates from the Late Iron Age, whereas the eastern houses where built in the Roman period. These houses are of the same type as the large 1935 building.
