Hunebed D6 in Tynaarlo (Dr.): méér dan een berg grijze stenen?
Samenvatting
Hunebed D6 at Tynaarlo (province of Drenthe): more than a pile of grey boulders? Hunebed D6 at Tynaarlo is one of the few un-disturbed megaliths in the Netherlands. It was therefore selected for an assessment of the rock type of the boulders, determining their colour, texture and mineral composition. This was done to see if any visible pattern could be linked to the lay-out of the megalith. Even though no such pattern was discerned, there are indications that specific rocks were selected, with an apparent preference for a pink colour. Some of the stones appear to show signs of modification. Finally, the megalith was scanned three-dimensionally, to allow a ‘virtual experience’ of the chamber’s spatial effect.
