Botanische resten aangetroffen in de overgangsperiode van het Eemien naar het Weichselien (Gr)

Samenvatting

Botanical remains dating to the transition period from the Eemian interglacial period to the Weichselian glaciation in the Last Glacial period (Gr). The former circus ground was dug in 2000 in order to make a parking. During this work a layer of peat from the transition of Eemien to Weichselien could be investigated. From this deposit 3 samples were taken. In these samples we found pine cone and pine-straw (carbonized), birch raspberry, currant and flax. From the wild flax we found the fruit. On the basis of the seeds birch and pine, maybe these surroundings were a Pine-Birch wood or a Pinetum.
