Ilipinar in the prehistory of Northwest Anatolia

Abstract

Recent excavations at Ilipinar in Northwest Anatolia, throw new light on the prehistory of this region and its relations with both Central Anatolia and the Balkans. Radiocarbon dates of the Fikirtepe fase at Ilipinar show the contemporaneity of the so-called Fikirtepe culture with the Early Neolithic of the northern Balkans.
