Bronze Age connections: France and the Netherlands

Abstract

Metalwork connections between France and the Netherlands begin in the Treboul phase, and extend to the time of the Plainseau axes and carps-tongue swords. Both in the Middle and Late Bronze Age French influences, whether from eastern or Atlantic France, are most conspicuous in the Meuse (Maas) region, and less well-represented in the western coastal area. Tools and weapons predominate.
