Abstract
This article presents the results of a study of the find-circumstances and find-contexts of bronze axes, spearheads, daggers, swords and knives from the provinces of Drenthe, Groningen and Friesland in the north of the Netherlands. Attention is given to the typology of bronze axes, the different kinds of find-contexts, the find-distribution and the interpretation of the finds, especially the finds from a wet context. It seems likely that a majority of these 'wet' finds have been ritually deposited.
