Abstract

(p. 145)

The study of the flint material of Swifterbant forms part of a broader study of Neolithic flint complexes. In this publication and in a second part to follow we will restrict ourselves to the publication of the basic data of the Swifterbant flint material. In the wider context problems of a more general and methodological character will be studied. Terms pertaining to the flint material used in the two papers on the Swifterbant artefacts will be discussed in the methodological contribution (Deckers in prep.). The studies have been made possible by a two year-grant from the Netherlands organisation for the advancement of pure research (Z.W.O.)

For more information concerning the earlier Neolithic sites at Swifterbant we refer to the series of Swifterbant Contributions published in Helinium XVI, 1976 and subsequent parts and to the final reports on Swifterbant, which will be published in Palaeohistoria.
