Abstract
(p. 253)
In the present study the results of the palaeobotanical examination of the Neolithic sites of Aswad, Ghoraife and Ramad, in the Damascus basin (fig. 1), are presented. In eachof the sites two aceramic phases are distinguished. The time span covered by the pre-pottery Neolithic habitation is radiocarbon dated from c. 7800 B .C. (basal levels of Aswad I) to c. 5950 B.C. (phase II at Ramad).
