An expert research on occupational 'worth'. Summary: In this article, we present measures for the 'worth' of detailed five-digit occupations on the Dutch labour market, which were not available until now. These measures are the result of an expert research, in which a group of 147 experts consisting ofjob evaluators, vocational advisors and social scientists rated 500 detailed occupations on different aspects of their worth. Each of these experts rated a total of 20 occupations, resulting in an average ofsix judgements per occupation. Using these ratings, we constructed occupational measures for required education and skiffs, effort and responsibility, and a general occupational index. Tests indicate that the resulting measures have good external validity and reliability.
