Samenvatting

The article focuses on the income of old age pensioners in the Netherlands. It analyzes the composition and partitioning of households with old age pensioners and the income position of these households with respect to the remaining households. Also, some income data are presented concerning old age pensioners in institutional households. In the Netherlands, one out of ten households have a single old age pensioner, persons who have received pension during the whole year. It has been found that the number of households with old age pensioners in 1991 were 27,000. Old age pensioners in private households in 1992 totaled 2.1 million. The private households with old age pensioners have been subdivided in households formed by singles and pensioners pair.
