Samenvatting

Regional development of labor force participation in the Netherlands during 1975-1985 is analyzed, focusing on effects of demographic development & real participation changes. Regionally, the most urbanized parts of the country show higher participation levels & larger differences between specific age groups. However, convergence of regional participation levels is observed, due to two developments: a decreasing participation of older men & an increasing participation of younger women, leading to a feminization & rejuvenation of the labor force. 2 Tables, 5 Figures, 6 References.
