Problems of adaptation of civil service men In European agencies. The author reviews the adaption to the new surroundings and its problems, the uncertainty of the function, the question of promotion and the often unsatisfactory character of the work, that officials of the agencies of European integration experience in thier environment, which is internationally orientated, but which is, on the human level, often very limited. Adaptational difficulties of other members of a famllly very often cause a European career to fall. Indeed there have been developed a number of Initiatives to Improve the social climate in Luxemburg, Strassbourg and Brussels (European school, European parish, a.o.). The author pleads for a more systematic community organisation.
