Gerretson as a sociologist. A condensed review of the sociological works of the historian, politician and poet Gerretson, who died recently. In 1911 there appeared an introduction to sociology by his hand, in which among other things he introduced the concept of sociography (even before Steinmetz), and, next to sociology, intended a task for sociosophy, a philosophical sociology. Gerretson also saw the unity of sociology and cultural anthropology.
