Samenvatting

Sociology of ecumenical phenomena. Gabriel le Bras has become one of the most important pioneers of the sociology of religion and religious groups. In his conception this sociology should also be detached from a restricted preoccupation with one’s own religious creed. So the study of ecumenical phenomena was to be an integral part of sociological research and theory in this branch. The actuality of this topic is underlined; it is shown to be in the centre of scientific and practical interest of clergy and laymen and to bear great importance for future sociological studies. Some research done recently also points in this direction; typical examples are mentioned, one of which has been described somewhat in more detail.
